Of course its just for pure power, my lad. That’s what our interest group liberalism has been about since the beginning. The Trump radicals represent only one small faction that, thus far, has been unable to unite with the remaining GOP factions. Even together, they would still not beat HRC, as mainstream America sees no promise in the strange GOP economic theories. Real Americans don’t care for theories, screwball or otherwise. The 17 GOP contenders failed to see this. Delivering the goodies to your folks is the game.
Mainstream America has been ensconced in the post-Watergate institutional legalities since Richard Nixon. Even Ronald Reagan was a political centrist.
