DEMS MUST INVESTIGATE IMPEACHMENT – But Delay on a Vote

Of course it’s more serious than Watergate. Due to Trump’s insanity, it is not statutory treason under 18 USC 2381. However, Congress does retain its constitutional obligation to conduct its oversight of the Executive Branch.

What is Trump’s treason? Better yet, what is the neo-Nazi GOP treason? Better ask Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, Devin Nunes and Fox News. Too many Dems forget Speer, Goebbels and Himmler. This assault on our entire federalist system is no mere matter of traditional party politics. Dems must name names. If Trump wins reelection – game over.

Dems can easily convene hearings on a myriad of Mueller’s issues and simultaneously pursue popular legislative initiatives. However, it is imperative that the impeachment investigations DO NOT dominate the news cycles. The Dem base will follow the inquiries without the assistance of a media frenzy. Force media attention onto the candidates’ salient policy proposals, according to the precinct polls.

The primary goal is to win Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Virginia and Nevada must be on guard. Arizona, Ohio and North Carolina could make this a landslide.

Is there a danger in naming names? The Dems should be able to win at least 3 senate seats by emphasizing policy issues alone. Naming names will energize the Dem extremists who would otherwise vote for Jill Stein, who is actually the most serious threat to Dem victories.

In this regard, Speaker Pelosi is correct. Pursue policy objectives, investigate thoroughly but cautiously, and at all costs avoid divisions among voting constituencies. Articles of Impeachment may or may not even be necessary. Hopefully, on the eve of the Dem nominee’s convention speech, all 20 or so challengers will unite on stage, indicating support from an extensive range of positions on all major issues.

What do you have to say, Pilgrim?
